Dharma Jyothi Social Centre organized an awareness programme on nutrition, health and cleanliness in collaboration with School of social work, RoshniNilaya, Mangalore on September 6, 2024 at St. Sebastian Higher Primary School, Permannur. Resource person Mrs. Renita Lewis spoke on effects of consuming junk food to the children. 350 students, school teachers and 3 BSW students were in present for the program.
On the occasion of 60th Diamond Jubilee JosAlukkas organized a Free Eye checkup and free distribution of spectacles on September 15, 2024 in collaboration with Spoorthi Charitable Society, K.S Hegde Medical College and Vision World. The camp was held at Jos AlukkasJewellery, Light House Hill Road, Mangalore from 10.00 to 1.00 P.M. A total of 248 people benefited from this eye tests and 198 individuals received free spectacles.
Dharma Jyothi Social Centre, Vamanjoorin collaboration with Women’s Federation organized a Cybercrime awareness programme on 28th September 2024. Mr. Chandru, the Police Head constable, Vamanjoor led the session by sharing real life incidents about the social media related cybercrimes associated with online fraud. Sr. Joel Lasrado gave introductory speech. Mrs. Asha, President of Federation, addressed the gathering. Lady Police Nethravathi was also present for the session. Ujwala Self Help Group members compered the programme. Total 73 total SHG women benefitted from the programme.
Every month 25 terminally ill patients receive ration kits consisting of Rice and eggs. The patients are from poor economic back ground and are terminally ill. This is a good practice continued from decades.
