Free eye check-up and spectacle distribution programme

On 12-07-2026, the Yuvajana Seva Sangha and Dharma jyothi social Centre, Vamanjoor, jointly organized a free eye check-up and spectacle distribution programme.The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Sumith Ameen, eye specialist from Prasad Netralaya, and Kiran Odyur, Director of the Odyur Organization, who also addressed the gathering.Mrs. Renita Lewis, Programme Coordinator of Dharmajyothi SocialCentre, welcomed the gathering and conveyed her best wishes for the success of the programme.A total of 158 people benefited from the eye screening camp. Among them, 98 people received free spectacles, and 18 people who required further treatment were identified and referred for free cataract surgery.

Children's Club

On 11.07.2026, a Children's Club program was conducted at the GramabhivrudhiSangha by Dharma Jyothi Social Centre , Vamanjoor. During the program, children were given information on sports and the proper ways to use and conserve water. Various games and competitions were also organized for the children. A total of 32 children participated in the program.

Awareness Programme on the Importance of Sanjeevini Federation

On 31.07.2026, an awareness programme on the importance of the Sanjeevini Federation was organized by Dharma Jyothi Social Centre Vamanjoor. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp by Mr. Jayaram, Director of the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Sanjeevini Federation, and Sr. Veera Monis(SRA), Director of Dharma Jyothi Social Centre. The resource person, Mr. Hariprasad, District Programme Coordinator, explained in brief the objectives, benefits, and functioning of the Sanjeevini Federation under various Government schemes. Mr. Subrahmanya, Taluk Programme Coordinator of the Sanjeevini Federation, and Mrs. Asha, President of the Women Souharda Federation, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the programme. A total of 79 members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) participated in the programme.

Vanamahotsava (Tree Plantation) Programme

On 31.07.2026, a Vanamahotsava (Tree Plantation) Programme was organized jointly by Dharma Jyothi Social Centre Vamajoor.and the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru. As part of the programme, saplings were planted in the premises ofDharma Jyothi Social Centre to promote environmental conservation. The programme was attended by Sr Veera Monis(SRA), Director of Dharma Jyothi Social Centre. Mrs. Asha, President of the Women Souharda Federation; Mr. Jayaram, Director of the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Sanjeevini Federation; Mr. Hariprasad, District Programme Coordinator; and Mr. Subrahmanya, Taluk Programme Coordinator of the Sanjeevini Federation. A total of 79 members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), along with BSW (Bachelor of Social Work) and MSW (Master of Social Work) students, participated in the programme.
